Sumud A Story Of Resilience

The upcoming Turkish series Sumud, produced by Cinapex for TRT’s digital platform tabii, is set to deliver a deeply moving narrative centered on the themes of identity, resilience, and resistance.
Directed by Doğan Ümit Karaca, the story unfolds through the eyes of a young woman named Melisa, played by Şifanur Gül, who grew up in the United States. Her life changes dramatically when she discovers that her biological father is actually a Palestinian doctor.
Driven by a desire to uncover her roots and confront her past, she makes the journey to Palestine, where she finds herself thrust directly into the heart of the Palestinian struggle.Witnessing the daily hardships, deep injustices, and unwavering courage of the local people sparks a powerful transformation within her, lighting a spirit of resistance in her own heart.To capture the authentic, atmospheric, and historic backdrop required for such a poignant narrative, production took place on location in the historic city of Mardin, Turkey.The production brings together a talented ensemble cast to bring this story to life.
