Omur Usta The Story Of A fierce Woman!

While we are enjoying the light hearted rom-coms and youth series this summer, we are also longing for the drama, intense romance, passionate love affairs, action tragedy and complex family relations and the season embarking with September is all about that.

Among the several series that have accelerated the preparations for the season is the long-awaited series Ömür Usta, an adaptation of the famous Brazilian telenovela ‘Fina Estampa’, have officially begun. The series brings together a strong cast led by Nurgül Yeşilçay, Bülent İnal, Gonca Vuslateri, Enes Koçak, Cemre Arda, and Zülal Sude Güler in the main roles.

At the center of the story is Ömür, a tough and hardworking woman who makes a modest living as a repair and handyman to support her family after the shocking disappearance of her husband who left to buy bread and never returned, leaving her alone with her three children and her mother-in-law.Her life changes completely when she wins the national lottery, but this sudden wealth brings not only comfort but also class conflicts, greed, and the return of people from her past. While navigating this new world, Ömür struggles to protect her family, her values, and her sense of self amid growing emotional and social chaos.

Directed by Hilal Saral with the script written by Çağla Kızılelma the story revolves around Ömür, the strong-willed matriarch played by Nurgül Yeşilçay.

Bülent İnal appears as Tunç, while Gonca Vuslateri plays his wife Nevra. 

Their daughter İpek is portrayed by Sude Zülal Güler, and she shares a school connection with Mete, Ömür’s son, played by Enes Koçak.

Cemre Arda plays Nazlı, Ömür’s daughter and Mete’s sister.

The family tension deepens with Aslıhan Kurşun as Cüneyt, Ömür’s eldest son, and Ümit Beste Kargın as his wife Vildan, whose actions create major conflict after leaving her husband and their son Aliş.

Zerrin Sümer plays Müzeyyen, Ömür’s mother-in-law who lives with the family.The extended family also includes Gülçin Kültür Şahin as Gülsüm, Ömür’s sister, with Mert Carim as her husband Şahin and Melis Girşen as their daughter Zeynep.

Ceren Aslan appears as Dilara, Cüneyt’s coworker, while Aydan Kaya plays Safiye, a local minibus driver. Pınar Çağlar Gençtürk also joins the cast as Yıldız, with her storyline being kept under wraps.

The series which is produced by Ay Yapim and will air on Now is expected to kick off the shooting by the end of July.
