The preparations for the Akın Akınözü starrer new period series "Aşk ve Taht" are continuing at full speed, and the cast of the show keeps expanding. In a recent development, the production has found its female lead for the character Destina. Bosnian actress Merjem Šiljak will play the role of Destina, becoming the main partner to Akın Akınözü. This casting decision follows a search for the lead female role that involved discussions with prominent actresses, including Pınar Deniz and Afra Saraçoğlu, before the production chose Šiljak. She has already been participating in rehearsals at the Bozdağ Film plateaus.
The narrative of the series, which is being prepared for the new broadcasting season on atv, centers around Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat, played by Akın Akınözü, during the brightest years of the Anatolian Seljuk State. Joining him is Simay Barlas as Melike Hatun, the daughter of the Sultan's uncle, Erzurum Meliki Muğisiddin Tuğrul Şah.

Her mother, Hünkar Hatun, is portrayed by İdil Yener.


Ayça Bingöl steps into the role of Baş Hatun (Chief Lady) Ümmühan, the mother of Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat. 

Ceren Benderlioğlu portrays Nurcihan Hatun, the Sultan’s stepsister. 

Within the palace walls, Selin Genç plays Dilruba Hatun, a kalfa handling the affairs of the harem.

 


The political landscape includes Halil İbrahim Ceyhan as Andreas, the enemy of Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat. Meanwhile, Ferit Kaya steps into the historical role of Melik Keyferidun.

The series features project design by Mehmet Bozdağ, direction by Taylan Biraderler (Durul Taylan and Yağmur Taylan), and a screenplay by Serdar Özönalan, Hasan Erimez, Özlem Atasoy, and Melek Yalçın.
